‘Racist’ America Graduates High Numbers of Black Pre-Med Students

Even at a young age Lawrence Cresswell knew he wanted to be a doctor. As a high schooler in New York, he participated in a program at the University of Rochester and remembers asking students there about potential pre-med programs.

He was pointed to Xavier University in New Orleans.
Over the years this small private university has built a reputation in successfully graduating some of the highest numbers of black pre-med students in the country. In 2017, the Association of American College’s reported that with 103 pre-med graduates, Xavier was second only to Howard University in Washington D.C. in graduating the highest numbers of pre-med students who identify as either black or African American.
Those efforts are significant considering the chronic underrepresentation of African American, as well as Hispanic, medical students in the U.S.

Anti-Gun Victims of Newspaper Shooting Demand Gun Control

Capital Gazette writer Selene San Felice says her life was “shattered” immediately after a gunman opened fire on their newsroom in Maryland, and that she “couldn’t give a f***” about Donald Trump’s “prayers” if they don’t coincide with action.

Mr Trump tweeted his condolences to the victims of the latest mass shooting in America, this time occurring in a small community newspaper’s offices, writing “my thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families.” But to Ms San Felice, who had just witnessed her coworkers killed in gun violence, the president’s prayers were not enough.

“I’m going to need more than a couple days of news coverage and some thoughts and prayers, because our whole lives have been shattered,” the journalist told CNN’s Anderson Cooper on Thursday night. “So, thanks for your prayers, but I couldn’t give a f**k about them if there’s nothing else.”

Bill Maher Calls Enforcing Immigration Laws ‘Fascism’

Liberal talk-show host Bill Maher asked filmmaker Michael Moore on Friday whether Moore had rethought his stance on gun control following President Trump‘s election.

Talking about the Trump administration, the HBO host asked Moore on “Real Time with Bill Maher” whether “fascism” coming to America had affected the views Moore expressed in his 2002 documentary film “Bowling for Columbine.”

“You know, I was going to ask you, about ‘Bowling for Columbine,’ about guns,” Maher said.

“Now that facism’s coming to America, and their side has all the guns. Any second thoughts?” he asked.

“Seventy-eight percent of Americans do not own a gun,” Moore responded.

“Right, and they’re all the liberals,” Maher shot back.

Ted Cruz Slams ‘Nazi’ Republican, Encourages Voters to Vote Democrat

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) on Friday made known his distaste for a Republican congressional candidate who is a Holocaust denier—so much so that the ardent conservative encouraged people in that district to vote Democrat. “This is horrific. An avowed Nazi running for Congress,” Cruz tweeted, linking to a Politico article on Arthur Jones, the avowed Nazi who “snookered” (his words) his way to the Republican nomination for Illinois’ 3rd congressional district against heavily favored incumbent Democratic Rep. Dan Lipinski. “To the good people of Illinois, you have two reasonable choices: write in another candidate, or vote for the Democrat. This bigoted fool should receive ZERO votes.”

Democrats Think They Will Reclaim Power by Talking About Themselves

Former President Obama this week predicted House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) will again be Speaker after the midterm elections.

Politico reported in Playbook that Obama spoke at a Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee fundraiser in Northern California, which Pelosi co-hosted.

“I think everybody knows how much I love Nancy Pelosi. So … Paul’s alright,” Obama joked, according to Politico.

“But Nancy, I believe is one of the greatest Speakers we ever had and will once again be one of the greatest Speakers we ever have after we get through this cycle,” he added.

Bloomberg Still Bitching About Lack of Gun Confiscation in U.S.

On Thursday a gunman entered the offices of a newspaper in Annapolis, Maryland, and opened fire, killing five people and injuring two. There have been more than 150 mass shootings in the U.S. this year, according to the Gun Violence Archive. Two Bloomberg columnists who write extensively about politics met online recently to consider the question,  If most voters support stricter gun laws, then why can’t Congress pass  any?

Francis Wilkinson: The easy answer is three letters: N, R and A. The harder question is why a lobby representing gun manufacturers is so influential. The usual reply is that the National Rifle Association is highly organized, and its members highly motivated, to exert maximum political pressure.

Nunez Calls on 17 Deep State Operatives to Testify on Govt Spying

House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes is calling for 17 current and former FBI and Justice Department employees to testify on Capitol Hill about alleged government surveillance on the 2016 Trump campaign.

The list includes former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe, FBI agent Peter Strzok and others who may “have relevant information.”

Nunes is requesting that the joint task force of the Oversight and Judiciary Committees interview the staffers because The House Intelligence Committee doesn’t have direct oversight over the FBI and DOJ.

Socialist Democrat Ocasio-Cortez Called Out in Fact Check

The Democratic Party’s rising socialist icon – Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, has been on an intense media junket since her upset primary victory over establishment Democrat Joe Crowley this week – doing her darnedest to project her “girl from the Bronx” working-class image.

“Well, you know, the president is from Queens, and with all due respect — half of my district is from Queens — I don’t think he knows how to deal with a girl from the Bronx,” Ocasio-Cortez told Stephen Colbert during an appearance on The Late Show.

The socialist phenom also told the Washington Post “I wasn’t born to a wealthy or powerful family — mother from Puerto Rico, dad from the South Bronx. I was born in a place where your Zip code determines your destiny.”

Except Ocasio-Cortez isn’t quite the blue-collar champion she’s branding herself as. Breitbart‘sJosh Caplan is out with a “fact check” on the Democratic Socialist’s background – only to find she grew up in one of the richest counties in the United States.

FBI Refusing to Give Congress Material Alleging Loretta Lynch Interfered in Clinton Hive

Paul Sperry reports at RealClearInvestigations — the investigative reporting affiliate of trusted polling aggregator RealClearPolitics — that the FBI is refusing to allow members of Congress to review intelligence that alleges Obama Attorney General Loretta Lynch interfered in the Hillary Clinton email investigation:

The FBI had little problem leaking “unverified” dirt from Russian sources on Donald Trump and his campaign aides – and even basing FISA wiretaps on it. But according to the Justice Department’s inspector general, the bureau is refusing to allow even members of Congress with top security clearance to see intercepted material alleging political interference by President Obama’s attorney general, Loretta Lynch.

That material – which has been outlined in press reports – consists of unverified accounts intercepted from putative Russian sources in which the head of the Democratic National Committee allegedly implicates the Hillary Clinton campaign and Lynch in a secret deal to fix the Clinton email investigation.

“It is remarkable how this Justice Department is protecting the corruption of the Obama Justice Department,” said Tom Fitton, president of Washington-based watchdog Judicial Watch, which is suing for the material.
