Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) asserted that President Trump is a “dictator” whose impeachment is “inevitable,” but she still hasn’t condemned socialist dictator Nicolas Maduro for killing dissenters with death squads.
“I believe that impeachment is inevitable. It also is a terrifying notion,” Omar tweeted Wednesday. “Nations struggle any time they overthrow a dictator, and Trump really has the markings of a dictator.”
Rather than offer evidence of Trump behaving like a “dictator,” Omar instead linked to a Rolling Stone fluff piece about herself.

After appealing the warrant, his charges were lowered to two offenses, but he is still under suspicion for the other three sexual assaults, a local prosecutor told TT-Inrikes.

Univision reporter Jorge Ramos was detained Monday at the Venezuelan presidential palace after reportedly showing dictator Nicolas Maduro a video of his people eating from a garbage truck.
The footage was released by one of Ramos’ associates Monday, and shows three Venezuelan men picking food out of the back of the truck before it drives off.
“These are the images that Jorge Ramos showed to Nicolás Maduro and provoked him to get up from the interview,” Ramos’ peer Enrique Acevedo tweeted in Spanish. “This is what Maduro doesn’t want the world to see.”
Ramos says he had been questioning Maduro for roughly 17 minutes about the current state of affairs in the country where hyperinflation and failed socialist policies have driven its people to starvation.

WASHINGTON ― With Democrats back in control, the House passed the most significant piece of gun control legislation in more than two decades Wednesday.
By a vote of 240-190, the House approved a bill that would require background checks on all gun sales in the United States. Currently, only licensed firearm dealers have to perform background checks, and unlicensed dealers ― such as those at gun shows ― can sell a gun without going through the National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS).
Eight Republicans joined all but two Democrats in support of the bill, and the measure will now go to the Senate, where it faces an uncertain future. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) has not committed to bringing the bill up for a vote, and it likely doesn’t have the 60 senators it needs to make it to a final vote.
A moral catastrophe unfolded on the floor of the U.S. Senate on Monday. Forty-four Democratic senators voted against legislation that would have required doctors to give the same care to infants who survive abortion procedures that they would give to any other infant.
One after another, Democratic senators took to the floor to smear the bill as an attack on women’s health care, a baseless criticism that they failed to substantiate. In the process, they revealed their belief that allowing unwanted infants to perish after birth constitutes a form of women’s health care.
Senator Ben Sasse (R., Neb.) reintroduced his Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act in direct response to Virginia governor Ralph Northam’s endorsement of permitting mothers and doctors to let infants die of neglect. “The infant would be delivered,” Northam said, explaining a hypothetical case in which a woman in labor wanted an abortion. “The infant would be kept comfortable. The infant would be resuscitated if that’s what the mother and the family desired, and then a discussion would ensue between the physicians and the mother.”

(Reuters) – Walt Disney Co is actively pursuing the purchase of WarnerMedia’s nearly 10 percent stake in Hulu, entertainment business news portal Variety reported on Wednesday, citing sources.
Disney, Comcast and Twenty-First Century Fox Inc each had a 30 percent stake in the video streaming service Hulu, as of September 2018.
Time Warner, renamed WarnerMedia after its acquisition by telecom company AT&T Inc, holds a 10 percent passive stake in Hulu.
In November last year, AT&T committed to cutting its heavy debt load in 2019 through a variety of measures, including a review of all of its non-core assets such as its stake in Hulu for a possible sale.
Disney, Hulu and AT&T did not immediately respond to Reuters’ request for comment.

On Mariah Smith’s wrist is a bracelet that reads “F*** ISIS” in all capital letters.
It was a gift she received during a memorial at the U.S. Naval Academy to honor her sister, Senior Chief Petty Officer Shannon M. Kent, one of four Americans killed in an Islamic State suicide attack at a restaurant in northern Syria on Jan. 16 — the deadliest day for U.S. forces since entering the country in 2015.
“I think you need this more than me right now,” Kent’s Navy teammate told Mariah as he handed her the bracelet.
More than a thousand people crowded into the Annapolis, Maryland, chapel that day to honor Kent, who served as a Navy cryptologic technician, collecting valuable information for special operations missions.

The service dog of a disabled veteran had its tail amputated after a Florida groomer allegedly attacked the animal during an appointment.
James Cordell Doughy Suthann was arrested on Monday on charges of felony cruelty to animals, according to a statement from the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office.
During a “violent incident” at a local salon, Suthann allegedly became angry when the 8-year-old German Shepard would not stand still as Suthann was trying to complete the grooming process, police say.
“At one point you see Suthann cinch the pets head down so tight that the dog could no longer move and was obviously in pain,” Sheriff Wayne Ivey alleged in the statement. “Suthann grabs the dog’s tail and completely lifts him off the ground causing the pet’s tail to be twisted a full 360 degrees and to be broken to the extent it could not be reattached.”
The changes are called Max and Keira’s Law, after a boy who received a heart transplant from a girl who was fatally injured in a car accident.
It turns on its head the previous system, under which a person had to “opt in,” i.e. to give consent to donate their organs.
The UK House of Commons has approved the bill that will introduce a “presumed consent” policy in organ donation.
According to the new law, starting from 2020, Britons over the age of 18 will no longer have to opt in to donate their organs, and their consent to donate will be presumed unless they object to it explicitly or unless they are in an excluded group.
