A woman and two children found unresponsive on a sidewalk outside a Northeastern University parking garage in Boston were pronounced dead at the hospital in a Christmas tragedy that shook first responders.
Boston police said they had not determined exactly what happened, but investigators later towed a black SUV that contained two child car seats from the top of the eight-story garage.
The garage is the same one where Boston College student Alexander Urtula, 22, killed himself on his graduation day in May, allegedly at the urging of his girlfriend.
After Wednesday’s incident, Northeastern University said it was blocking off the top floors of the Renaissance Parking Garage.

Her husband’s steady shift to the political right during their 24-year marriage was a source of frustration and embarrassment for liberal Jennifer Merrill, but it wasn’t until the election of Donald Trump — and her husband’s support for the president — that she’d finally had enough.
Merrill moved out and filed for divorce.
“I just couldn’t see sharing a bed with somebody that agreed with what Trump was doing when I was so against everything that Trump represented,” says Merrill, a book editor for a trade association, and the mother of three children. “He had no sensitivity for how I felt, that I felt so strongly about it, especially when I was going out and doing protests … and he would just laugh about it and continue to defend [Trump]. So that just made me very, very angry.”

French labor unions won’t be giving any presents to citizens who want to travel by train this Christmas.
That’s because strikes by transport workers against the government’s pension-reform plan have shut down half of national train services this weekend, with 59% of services expected to be cut on December 23-24, according to Bloomberg.
French railway company, SNCF, has suspended its unaccompanied minor service, canceling about 6,000 tickets for children this week. Four out of five trains were also suspended in the greater Paris area and the capital’s metro system also stopped, with the exception of two automated lines.
According to reports Monday, court documents show that Democrats are seeking to impeach President Trump a second time, and still want to use ‘Russian collusion’ allegations, even thought the Mueller investigation found zero evidence of its existence.
The House Judiciary Committee is said to have told the the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit that it will continue to push for former White House counsel Don McGahn to testify in a move that could lead to the introduction of “additional articles of impeachment.”
“If McGahn’s testimony produces new evidence supporting the conclusion that President Trump committed impeachable offenses that are not covered by the Articles approved by the House, the Committee will proceed accordingly—including, if necessary, by considering whether to recommend new articles of impeachment,” a brief that was submitted reads.

Democratic presidential candidate and former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg has been exploiting prison labor to make calls on behalf of his campaign, The Intercept reported on Wednesday.
The Bloomberg campaign contracted a call center company named ProCom through a third-party vendor to conduct the calls, according to the report. ProCom operates call centers in New Jersey and Oklahoma, and two of its Oklahoma centers operate out of prisons.
A source told The Intercept that some people incarcerated at the Dr. Eddie Warrior Correctional Center, a minimum-security women’s prison in Oklahoma that houses one of the call centers, have made calls for the Bloomberg 2020 campaign.

(Bloomberg Opinion) — Democrats are facing a challenge they haven’t confronted since the 1988 presidential election. They are trying to persuade enough Americans to kick a Republican out of the White House even though the economy is doing well. They failed that year – and as their latest presidential debate showed, so far they haven’t figured out how to meet the challenge this time either.
Early in that debate, moderator Judy Woodruff of PBS noted that “the overall U.S. economy right now looks strong” and asked the candidates what they would say to voters “who may not like everything President Trump does but they really like this economy.” Each of the candidates who responded denied her premise. They said it wasn’t really a strong economy after all.
He’s sort of like the Avengers’ Tony Stark in real life. Ben Workman, a 29-year-old software engineer, is a tinkerer and has fused technology with his own body.
Workman has RFID and NFC computer chips implanted in his hands. He also has a Tesla key implanted into his right hand to control access to his Tesla vehicle and a magnet in his left hand — which he says he mostly uses for Marvel villain Magneto-like entertainment purposes such as pulling paper clips and metal chains toward his hand’s magnetic field.
With the RFID and NFC chips, his hands replace some functionality of a smartphone.

New York Governor Andrew Cuomo is taking heat for the highly partisan act of vetoing a bill that would have allowed all federal judges to officiate weddings in the state because some have been appointed by President Trump.
The law, which was passed with virtually no opposition by the Democrat-dominated state legislature, was intended to enable federal judges to join governors, current and former mayors, select city and deputy city clerks, local justices, members of the clergy, and many ordained private citizens in legally presiding over matrimonial ceremonies.
“I cannot in good conscience support legislation that would authorize such actions by federal judges who are appointed by this federal administration,” said Gov. Cuomo in a statement, according to the New York Post.

California’s population growth has slowed to turn of the century levels — that’s turn of the 20th century.
The Golden State has not seen its population rise so slowly since 1900, and the phenomenon is due to a number of factors, the Los Angeles Times reported Saturday.
California was once depicted as an American promised land where people could escape to. Now an increasing number of residents are escaping from it.
