A butcher shop in Lyon, France, was targeted for selling pork by a gang of youths who discharged tear gas into the business, according to reports.
Employees of the meat market and caterer say a gang of hoodlums as young as 12-years-old began hurling insults and complaining that the store sold pork products, Le Progrès reports.
“They accused us of selling pork,” one staff work said.
The gang was told to leave the premises, which they did.
Fifteen minutes later, the group returned, this time with a “large tear gas cannister,” which they deployed in the shop with customers present.
Police arrived and chased the youths away, but they returned a third time, armed with a ‘dummy gun.’
A woman is dead and a man wounded following a shooting at an Amazon fulfillment center in Jacksonville, Florida, authorities say.
Police are calling the fatal shooting a “domestic incident” involving two people who are believed to have been Amazon employees.
Jacksonville Sheriff’s deputies arrived to the facility at around 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday night and discovered a 22-year-old black female and an injured black male, both suffering from gunshot wounds.
The woman was declared dead at the scene, and the man was transported to a hospital in unknown condition.
“This does not appear to be any type of active shooter incident. This does not appear to be any type of workplace violence,” Lt. J.D. Stronko told local media. “As you would expect in a facility of this size and operation, there were multiple witnesses to this incident.”
The head of the UN World Food Program repeatedly warned us that we would soon be facing “famines of biblical proportions”, and his predictions are now starting to become a reality.
We have already seen food riots in some parts of Africa, and it isn’t too much of a surprise that certain portions of Asia are really hurting right now.
But I have to admit that I was kind of shocked when I came across an article about the “hunger crisis” that has erupted in Latin America. According to Bloomberg, “a resurgence of poverty is bringing a vicious wave of hunger in a region that was supposed to have mostly eradicated that kind of malnutrition decades ago”.
We are being told that food shortages are becoming acute from Mexico City all the way down to the southern tip of South America, and those that are the poorest are being hit the hardest.

Senate Republicans aggressively confronted ex-FBI Director James Comey during a hearing Wednesday over his corrupt actions related to the FBI’s illegal surveillance of Donald Trump’s presidential campaign.
Republicans on the Senate Judiciary Committee wasted no time grilling the disgraced former FBI director over damning new revelations pertaining to the FBI’s handling of the “Crossfire Hurricane” counterintelligence operation into President Trump.
“Based upon what we know about how you and your agency ran the FBI’s anti-Trump investigation, you are either criminally corrupt or completely incompetent,” Sen Ted Cruz (R-Texas) told Comey.
Police in Scotland turned up at a 10-year-old girl’s birthday party after a neighbor snitched on her family for not following coronavirus social distancing rules.
Mum Leanne Macdonald said she deliberately spaced out visits by relatives so as not to violate Scotland’s strict COVID-19 regulations.
But this didn’t stop her neighbor from snitching on her and two uniformed police officers entering the home to warn her she was now on “alert” and would be charged and fined if she broke the rules again.
“I could not believe it. They came to the door and told me I had been reported for having people in my house,” she told the Daily Record.
Democrat presidential candidate Joe Biden gave another awkward bumbling speech the day after his poor debate performance against President Trump Tuesday night.
Biden appeared for a 15-minute anti-Trump speech outside his hotel room in Cleveland, Ohio, on Wednesday as part of his Amtrak “train tour” across Ohio and Pennsylvania.
“Does your president understand at all what you’re going through?” Biden asked the small crowd. “The question is does he see where you are and where you want to be? Does he care? Has he tried to walk in your shoes to understand what’s going on in your life? Or does he just ignore you and all the folks all over America who are in a similar situation.”
During his anti-Trump diatribe, Biden got confused as a passing train interrupted his remarks.
A 19-year-old Swedish man who was stabbed to death by a Sudanese migrant while trying to prevent the culprit from raping his girlfriend was targeted because the migrant thought he was “racist” for owning a Sweden Democrats cap.
The results of the police investigation into the incident, which occurred in Härnösand on May 10 this year, have now been revealed.
A group of migrants entered a house party uninvited before 23-year-old Abubaker Mohamad Awad noticed the SD cap. Sweden Democrats is a right-wing populist party that opposes mass immigration.
Having repeatedly entered the bedroom of 19-year-old Tommie Lindh’s girlfriend where she was trying to sleep and being told to leave, Awad then pointed a knife at her while accusing Lindh of being a “racist” for owning the cap.
A U.S. federal appeals court has upheld a ruling allowing Wisconsin’s absentee ballots in the November general election to be counted if they arrive up to six days after Election Day.
The panel of three judges, all appointed by Republican presidents, agreed with a September lower court ruling that said if the ballots are postmarked by November 3, they can be accepted for counting as long as they arrive by November 9.
The Republican National Committee and Wisconsin Republicans argued against allowing the deadline extension and could appeal Tuesday’s ruling. They said voters had plenty of time to obtain and return an absentee ballot by Election Day.
Wisconsin Democrats welcomed the court’s decision and said it would give more people in the state an opportunity to “have their voices heard in this election.”
