The defensive barrier being built along the southern frontier of the United States is “unlike” any project ever undertaken in North America, according to the acting head of Customs and Border Protection (CBP).
During a trip to the U.S.-Mexico border, CBP chief Mark Morgan explained how the wall system incorporates unique functionality and advanced technology.
“Every mile of new wall system is a new mile of wall. It’s like nothing that we’ve built before,” Morgan said. “It’s much more than steel and concrete going into the ground.”
“It’s a system with lighting, access road, an anti-climb plate, and state-of-the-art technology which will eventually infuse artificial intelligence or mechnical learning.”
