In one of the positive stories about this election cycle, Republicans picked up significant gains in the many state legislatures. This comes as the GOP appears to have held the Senate and achieved additional numbers in the US House.
Democrats, after spending hundreds of millions of dollars gleaned from millionaire and billionaire ideologues within their fold, failed to flip a single statehouse chamber in its favor.
Additionally, the Progressive-controlled Democrat Party has been completely boxed out of the redistricting map-making process in the critical states of Texas, North Carolina and Florida. These states will represent a combined 82 congressional seats by 2022.
“It was a huge night for state Republicans,” said David Abrams, deputy executive director of the Republican State Leadership Committee. The RSLC focuses on electing Republicans to state offices. “Democrats spent hundreds of millions of dollars to flip state chambers,” he said. “So far, they don’t have a damn thing to show for it.”
