de Blasio to Lay Off 22,000 City Workers if Feds Don’t Give NYC Bailout (VIDEO)

New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio told CNN’s Wolf Blitzer he will lay off 22,000 city workers if the Feds don’t give him a bailout.

Wolf Blitzer asked de Blasio if he is failing because crime has spiked in New York City.

The Communist Mayor, who defanged and defunded the NYPD blamed Covid for the increase in crime.

Then he said he’s very worried about the stimulus talks in DC and warned he will have to lay off 22,000 city employees from every department by October 1st if he doesn’t get a federal bailout.

As Violent Crime in New York Soars, De Blasio Assigns 27 Cops to Protect BLM Mural

Even as violent crime and deadly shootings in New York soar, Mayor Bill de Blasio has reportedly assigned no less than 27 cops working in shifts to protect a Black Lives Matter mural outside Trump Tower.

“Just heard that @NYCMayor has 1 & 8 securing the #BlackMindsMatter mural at Trump Tower,” tweeted former police commissioner Bernard Kerik. “That’s one sergeant and eight cops, x 3 tours a day! Violence, shootings, and murder is up in NYC and this clown has three sergeants and 24 cops guarding a mural! If true, #SICKENING.”

His claim was backed up by Derrick Gibson, who is running for governor of New York. Gibson said that he spoke to cops on the scene who said “they are getting paid to baby sit paint, and not happy about it.”

De Blasio Has 27 Police Guarding BLM Trump Tower Mural, Ignores NYC Crime

New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio has a strange sense of priorities.

Crimes and murder in the city are out of control, millions of people are still out of work, businesses have been destroyed by rioters, and de Blasio is devoting as many as 27 of the city’s remaining police officers to guarding the Black Lives Matter mural in front of Trump Tower.

That’s what he cares about. A political mural painted on the street.

From Law Enforcement Today:

As crime and murders skyrocket in NYC, mayor has 27 officers a day guarding Black Lives Matter “mural” (op-ed)

You’ve really got to hand it to New York Mayor Bill de Blasio. As violent crime goes out of control in the Big Apple, de Blasio, or as radio talk show host Mark Levin calls him, “de Commie-o,” at least has his “priorities” straight.

New York City Mayor Bill De Blasio and activist Al Sharpton took part in a photo op on Thursday where they joined BLM activists in painting the words “Black Lives Matter” on 5th Avenue outside Trump Tower in NYC.

“We are saying black lives matter in New York City and black lives matter in The United States of America. Let’s show Donald Trump what he does not understand. Let’s paint it right in front of his building for him,” the NYC Mayor said.

De Blasio Allows BLM Protests, Bans All Other Large Events

New York City’s Mayor Bill de Blasio made some stunning remarks on CNN, declaring protests in the streets were perfectly acceptable while canceling other large events through September.

De Blasio joined CNN’s Wolf Blitzer on Thursday evening, discussing the evolving pandemic and policy response by City Hall to mitigate the spread in the city. He said social justice warriors were too important after months of protests have yet produced an outbreak in cases.

“This is a historic moment of change. We have to respect that but also say to people the kinds of gatherings we’re used to, the parades, the fairs — we just can’t have that while we’re focusing on health right now,” de Blasio told Blitzer.

Blitzer then asks: What about protests?

De Blasio responds: “This is a historic moment. We have to respect that.”

New York Mayor Bill de Blasio dismissed the First Amendment, saying it’s perfectly acceptable for BLM protests and riots to ensue, but attending church is unacceptable during the COVID-19 pandemic.

De Blasio joined CNN last Wednesday to defend his arbitrary decision to shut down churches but allow BLM “protests” to sweep the city, which was recently ruled unconstitutional by an Albany court.

When asked about the court’s ruling, de Blasio dismissed it as “just wrong,” calling the BLM protests a “different reality.”

“We worked with the religious leadership of this city for months, Cardinal Dolan and the Catholic church and so many other religious leaders who are in full agreement that it was not time to bring back religious services because of the danger it would cause to their congregants,” de Blasio said.

Mayor de Blasio Seeking Billion Dollar Cut in NYPD Budget

New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio announced plans to cut the city’s police department (NYPD) budget by $1 billion and use the money to fund social programs that he said will address the causes of crime.

“My office presented to the city council a plan that would achieve a billion dollars in savings for the NYPD and shift resources to young people, to communities in a way that would help address a lot of the underlying issues that we know are the cause of so many problems in our society,” de Blasio said in a televised webcast on Monday.

The mayor said the proposal earmarks $500 million for youth centers at city-run housing developments.

U.S. District Judge Gary L. Sharpe handed down a preliminary injunction on Friday against New York officials for violating the First Amendment by shutting down religious services while encouraging Black Lives Matter protests.

Earlier this month, two Catholic priests and three Orthodox Jews came together in a lawsuit against New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, New York Attorney General Letitia James, and New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio, alleging that Democrats were violating their religious liberty under the First Amendment (and the Equal Protection Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment) by discouraging religious gatherings while joining large crowds of protesters in the streets.

de Blasio, Cuomo Bankrupting NY With Lockdowns, Riots

Seemingly every major real-estate broker in the tri-state area has appeared on CNBC over the past 3 weeks to talk about how their phone has been ringing off the hook with Brooklyn-based millennial couples looking to get the hell out of New York City.

Most are looking into the first-ring suburbs around the city, stretching as far as Connecticut’s Fairfield County (and even parts of southern Litchfield), while all of North Jersey is potentially accessible for office workers who will likely never return to the daily commute. Meanwhile, brokers in NYC, who enjoyed a decade-long post-crisis, are assuring their TV audience that the city’s real estate market will always bounce back, just like it did after 9/11.

Not everyone is so optimistic, especially when it comes to New York City. Even before the pandemic, the city was struggling with a crumbling subway, surging homelessness.
