The BBC has been forced into a massive U-turn after a public backlash and will now feature the patriotic lyrics to Land of Hope and Glory and Rule, Britannia! at the Last Night of the Proms.
The broadcaster announced last week that the lyrics to the songs would be absent after concerns were raised about their supposed historical links with “colonialism and slavery.”
The infamously woke corporation appeared to have been railroaded by a small vocal minority into the decision following months of Black Lives Matter protests.
“This means the words will be sung in the Hall, and as we have always made clear, audiences will be free to sing along at home.”
Given the BBC’s overwhelmingly left-wing bias, this represents a not insignificant victory in the culture war.
A Gallup poll has indicated that fewer Americans than ever are proud of their country, and that only a quarter of all Democrats find a lot of pride in being American.
The survey, found that 67% of Republicans are ‘extremely proud’ of their country compared to just 24% of Democrats.
Overall, feelings of pride among Americans have sunk to an all time low, according to the poll.
“Although a majority of adults in the U.S. still say they are ‘extremely proud’ (42%) or ‘very proud’ (21%) to be American, both readings are the lowest they have been since Gallup’s initial measurement in 2001,” the pollster noted.

Citizens protested by honking their car horns every fifteen minutes and holding signs calling for the state to “open up.”
The protesters, many of whom are small business owners, are calling for the reopening of the economy.
Police asked the demonstrators to leave, saying they were in violation of the Governor Cooper’s social-distancing guidelines and limits on public gatherings.

Donald Trump’s impromptu embrace of the America flag as he appeared onstage at the 2019 Conservative Action Conference has triggered a flurry of social media commentary, ranging from enthusiastic applause to cries of fascism.
“God Bless the USA” was blasted over the speakers as the US president sauntered up to the podium before his address to the annual GOP gathering – but Trump apparently wanted to make it crystal clear that he loves his country. Standing next to an American flag near the back of the stage, the president decided to briefly snuggle with the stars and stripes, grinning and rocking the flag back and forth as he soaked in a standing ovation from the audience.
A new YouGov poll has found that significant numbers of Americans hold extreme views on the country, with almost half of younger people saying they do not believe the US to be ‘great’ now or that it will ever be great in the future.
The poll, titled “State of American Patriotism”, was commissioned by the Foundation for Liberty and American Greatness (FLAG), a non-profit Patriot group that says it is committed to “educating Americans about the values and principles that make our nation exceptional. ”
Among other startling findings, the survey reveals that four in ten millenials say it is OK to burn the US flag, with one fifth saying they see it as “a sign of intolerance and hatred.”
