We all knew that the CV-1984 pandemic was going to cause the loss of our individual freedoms, liberties, and rights. But now tyranny has risen in Texas and police are showing up at the doorsteps of citizens deemed non-compliant with contact tracing measures in El Paso, Texas and ordering them to quarantine for 14 days.
Cases of CV are once again spiking in urban areas across Texas, but the state has done the unthinkable. Well, at least we thought, “this is America, what happened in China can’t happen here, right?” Wrong!
Police have turned to drastic measures to curb the spread of the virus across the U.S., not just in Texas, but the entire country is facing a loss of liberties.
This week, police officers were dispatched to the homes of residents who have tested positive in the Texas city of El Paso to order them to quarantine for 14 days. Those who disobey the order could find themselves brought before a judge or facing a $500 fine.

Kamala Harris has announced that she will suspend traveling for just two days after one of her staffers tested positive for coronavirus, despite official CDC guidance saying those exposed should self-isolate for 14 days.
“Campaign announces Kamala Harris is suspending her travel until Sunday, Oct.18, after her communications director, Liz Allen, and a non-staff flight crew member tested positive for coronavirus,” tweeted CNN’s Sarah Mucha.
Communications director Liz Allen tested positive for COVID-19 as did a non-staff flight crew member.
However, the Harris campaign claims that Biden’s running mate “was not in close contact” with either of the individuals and therefore doesn’t have to quarantine.
“Kamala Harris has had contact with someone tested positive but is only suspending travel for 2 days,” commented Raheem Kassam. “Just remember how the media would be spinning this if it wasn’t Kamala Harris.”

New York Governor Andrew Cuomo (D) announced he would allow rock stars and celebrities to bypass the state’s mandatory 14-day quarantine so that they can perform at the MTV Video Music Awards next week.
In another stunning example of COVID hypocrisy by the Democrats, Cuomo has decided to exempt the music industry’s hottest stars from being quarantined because they’re not regular peasants like the rest of us.
“The Mayor’s Office of Media and Entertainment and Citywide Events is working in close coordination with the production to ensure guidelines are being followed,” a City Hall spokesperson said Friday, adding that the NYPD will conduct “compliance checks during the production.”
South Korea is bracing for a looming coronavirus spike after new clusters linked to religious groups emerged.
The coronavirus outbreak linked to the Sarang Jeil Church in Seoul, the worst in nearly six months, has led to a tightening of social distancing rules. A total of 315 cases connected to the church have been confirmed so far, officials said on Monday.
The Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (KCDC) reported 197 new cases on Monday, a fourth consecutive day of triple-digit increases. This comes after several weeks with numbers generally in the 30s and 40s.
The latest cases brought the total infections to 15,515 including 305 deaths in a country that has been one of the world’s coronavirus control success stories.
Authorities have warned that the current situation is an initial stage of a large-scale transmission. “We’re facing a crisis where if the current spread isn’t controlled, it would bring an exponential rise in cases, which could in turn lead to the collapse of our medical system and enormous economic damage,” KCDC director Jeong Eun-kyeong said.
Authorities in New Zealand have said that they will put all new coronavirus infectees and their close family members in “quarantine facilities.”
The new measure was announced by Director-General of Health Dr Ashley Bloomfield during a press conference yesterday.
“All cases, confirmed cases, are to be managed in quarantine facilities,” said Bloomfield, adding that the move showed “how serious we are about limiting any risk of ongoing transmission – even in self-isolation and including to others in the household.”
“This will apply to any cases and also to close family members who might be at risk,” said Bloomfield.

At a moment the trade union for the airline industry, International Air Transport Association (IATA), has issued a dire prediction laying out that it doesn’t expect air travel to recover to pre-pandemic levels until at least after 2024, one major foreign carrier is rolling out with an unexpected, deeply unorthodox policy to gem up business and attention.
Emirates, the Dubai-based state-owned airline and flag carrier of the United Arab Emirates, is now offering passengers a ‘safety net’ of sorts, telling customers that if they catch coronavirus while traveling on their flights, the airline will cover all costs related to medical treatment, hotel quarantine, and even their funeral in the event of death.
The desperate measure — and no doubt costly in terms of the airline’s insurance premiums — comes as Emirates says it expects to cut as many as 9,000 jobs in the coming weeks.
New arrivals to Singapore won’t necessarily have to quarantine at a government facility during the pandemic – some, including residents, will receive an electronic monitoring device that will alert authorities if they leave home.
Singapore announced on Monday that it will track incoming travelers coming from a select group of countries – including residents and citizens – with electronic monitoring devices, starting on August 11.
Authorities framed the trackers as a positive for travelers, noting they would allow recipients to self-isolate at home instead of quarantining in a government facility. New arrivals will be ordered to activate the devices upon reaching home, at which point they are programmed to alert the authorities should the user try to leave or tamper with the device.

Mayor Bill de Blasio has announced that he will set up COVID checkpoints around New York City in an attempt to catch anyone who flouts their 14 day quarantine order.
Anyone arriving in NYC from 34 states and Puerto Rico is subject to a strict 14 day stay at home order and faces large fines if they violate the rule.
That will now be enforced with manned coronavirus checkpoints where those caught violating their quarantine will be penalized.
From NBC New York;
“Starting Wednesday, the city will implement COVID-19 checkpoints at key entry points into the city, de Blasio said. They will vary daily, though the mayor said one will appear at Penn Station on Thursday. Another is planned for Port Authority.”
“The city hopes to implement “full-fledged checkpoints” where viable and hold them at other locations where they’re unlikely to create major traffic backups. De Blasio says the city stands ready to assist travelers who need a safe place to isolate for 14 days. The test and trace team has already made nearly 90,000 calls to travelers affected by the quarantine order and sent nearly 21,000 texts.”

Jose Freire Interian was walking his dog near his Key West, Fla. home when a neighbor began recording him on her cellphone. Hours later, police came knocking on his door with an arrest warrant, and whisked Freire and his wife to the county jail.
The charge: violating quarantine after testing positive for COVID-19.
As a national debate swirls over masks and self-quarantines, communities are grappling over how aggressively they should enforce myriad rules meant to control the spread of the novel strain of coronavirus, which has now infected more than 460,000 in Florida and killed nearly 6,600 of its residents.
“It’s a national debate up until the health department tells you to quarantine, and then there’s no more debate,” Key West City Manager Greg Veliz said Thursday.
“If the law allows someone to be arrested for violating a quarantine order and they continue to thumb their nose at the law — yeah, they should be arrested,” Veliz said.
