France will impose a nightly curfew on almost one third of the country’s 67 million people to tackle a resurgent coronavirus, but a new national lockdown is not envisaged, President Emmanuel Macron said on Wednesday.
Macron announced the curfews, which will take effect from Saturday and run each night from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. the following morning, shortly after the government declared a new public health state of emergency. The restrictions will last for at least four weeks.

A popular Sky News host warns that politicians are exploiting the Covid-19 crisis to control people’s lives, and he points out that only 9% of deaths attributed to Covid-19 in Australia were due to Covid-19 alone.
Alan Jones said the central issue is politicians over-exaggerating the risk of Covid-19 to gain permanent, totalitarian control over how people live their lives.
“This is the mess you get into if you allow politicians to control your lives,” he continued. “I don’t. This has been badly managed and avoidable… So what do we have? Economic, financial, emotional and mental destruction.”
Although Jones was speaking to his Australian audience, his argument applies across the world as it’s revealed that Covid-19 is far less deadly than what politicians worldwide were claiming.
Nothing that you do on your phone is private.
In this day and age, most of us have become extremely dependent on our phones, and most Americans never even realize that these extremely sophisticated little devices are gathering mountains of information on each one of us.
Your phone knows what you look like, it knows the sound of your voice, it knows where you have been, it knows where you have shopped, it knows your Internet searches and it knows what you like to do in your free time.
In fact, your phone literally knows thousands of things about you, and all of that information is bought and sold every single day without you knowing.
And as you will see below, there are lots of companies out there that use information collected from our phones to create secret “surveillance scores” that are used for a whole host of alarming purposes.

Authorities across the country have begun enforcing social distancing measures in their towns and states, but some enforcement has clearly crossed the constitutional line and violated civil liberties.
From California to New York, police and Democrat leaders have shown staggering overreach in enforcing certain social distancing measures in recent days, from banning the sale of seeds and baby car seats to punishing people simply for being outside even if they’re alone posing no health risk to others.
Congress needs to hold hearings and get the specific metrics that the administration is using to determine when we can have our country back.
Chinese citizens will be forced to pass a facial recognition test to use the Internet in the latest expansion of the country’s draconian social credit score system.
“At present, a Chinese citizen will need to show his or her ID card while applying for a landline or the internet,” reports the Daily Mail. “The facial-recognition test is set to verify that the ID card belongs to the applicant.”
Under its social credit score system, China punishes people who criticize the government, as well as numerous other behaviors, including;
– Bad driving.
– Smoking on trains.
– Buying too many video games.
– Buying too much junk food.
– Buying too much alcohol.
– Calling a friend who has a low credit score .
– Having a friend online who has a low credit score.
– Posting “fake news” online.
– Visiting unauthorized websites.
– Walking your dog without a leash.
– Letting your dog bark too much.

Linking human consciousness to a computer cloud with the capability of reading everyone’s thoughts simultaneously could lead to “totalitarian mind control,” warns philosopher Slavoj Zizek.
With fears growing that artificial intelligence will eventually dominate and maybe even exterminate humanity, Zizek, the senior researcher at the Institute for Sociology and Philosophy at the University of Ljubljana, is sounding the alarm.
Zizek pointed out that MIT has already developed a “helmet” that can read your thoughts and reproduce them in writing or an artificial voice.
Chinese journalist Liu Hu always knew he’d have trouble with the authorities; he had been exposing corruption and wrongdoing for years. He was used to being hassled with regular fines and forced apologies imposed by his authoritarian government. He nevertheless persisted in truth-telling.
One day in 2017, Hu logged onto a travel site, but couldn’t book a flight because the site said he was “not qualified.” Soon he discovered he was blocked from buying property, using the high-speed train network, or getting a loan. And there was nothing he could do about it. His rights to essential goods and services were now circumscribed through an algorithm designed to discriminate against the 7.5 million people on China’s “Dishonest Persons Subject to Enforcement” list.
Welcome to the Chinese “social credit score” system, whose goal is to rank China’s 1.4 billion people. Conceptually, it is not that different from a financial credit score in the US. But the social credit score includes things like political outspokenness, shopping habits, friends, travel habits, and anything the authorities want to encourage or discourage. This score then fine-tunes your access to essential social goods based on a discriminatory algorithm.

What a letdown – you libs were totally promised that you and your elite cohort would rule forever, unchallenged, over the filthy hordes infesting America’s non-coastal regions, and then all of a sudden those nasty Normals got militant and elected Donald Trump.
It’s not fair, damnit! And it just gets worse and worse as things in America, under Trump, get better and better.
This prosperity and this relative peace are the worst things ever. Well, for you liberals. But then that’s all that matters, according to liberals.
China has blocked air and rail passengers from taking more than 15 million trips, it has been reported.
The country’s state-run newspaper the Global Times said China’s “social credit system” had blocked people from taking 11.14 million flights and 4.25 million high-speed train journeys.
The figures were published at the end of April but it is unclear what offences were committed by those banned from travelling.
