Gavin Newsom’s Exceedingly Ignorant Climate Claim

Scientific evidence reveals there has been no climate effect regards California’s wildfires! None! The data below proves it beyond all doubt. There is no denying that warmer temperatures can cause drier fuels and promote larger fires. But that fact is being misapplied to all wildfires. About 70% of California’s 2020 burnt areas have been in grasslands and dead grass is so dry by the end of California’s annual summer drought that dead grasses are totally insensitive to any added warmth from climate change. Dead grasses only require a few hours of warm dry conditions to become highly flammable. It’s fire weather not climate change that is critical. Furthermore, the century trends in local temperatures where California’s biggest fires have occurred reveal no connection to climate change. In most cases the local maximum temperatures have been cooler now than during the 1930s. Those cooler temperatures should reduce the fire danger. Newsom is either ignoring or distorting the scientific evidence, is totally stupid, or is a dishonest demagogue.

Maximum temperatures are typically used by fire indexes to issue red flag warnings because it is the heat of midday that has the greatest drying effect. Minimum temperatures are often low enough to drop below the dewpoint at which time fuel moisture increases. So averaging minimum and maximum temperatures is inappropriate. In addition, referencing a higher global average temperature is meaningless. Only local maximum temperatures determine the dryness of surface fuels during every fire. As in Park and Abatzoglou 2019, the months of March through October are averaged to determine maximum temperatures during California’s dry season.

2020: Wildfires, Heatwaves, Hurricanes, Riots, Medical Tyranny, Famine & More

It has just been one thing after another in 2020.  First, the COVID-19 pandemic erupted and quickly spread all over the globe.

At this point more than 800,000 people have died globally, and authorities are warning us to brace ourselves for another wave of the pandemic in the fall.

Of course many would argue that fear of the virus has been even worse than the disease itself, and it is undeniable that the COVID-19 shutdowns were the primary reason why we have plunged into the worst economic downturn since the Great Depression of the 1930s.

PG&E Raising Suspicions That it May Be Causing California’s Wildfires (Video)

Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) may be responsible for the latest wildfires currently raging through California, as satellite footage shows several explosions near PG&E locations that occurred just before the blazes began.

This comes after the energy company was found liable for starting the Camp Fire in 2018, the deadliest wildfire in the state’s history, forcing the utility to file for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.

CA Shuts Down Ham Radio Networks Despite Recent Wildfires, Blackouts

California is trying to snuff out ham radio operators in the state by claiming their emergency services are no longer a benefit despite recent blackouts and the ongoing threat of wildfires.

The California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (Cal Fire) notified radio operators that they can no longer operate network repeaters, which make ham radios possible by extending their range, unless they pay significant rental fees for using public land.

“…With constantly changing technological advances, there is no longer the same [emergency] benefit to [the] state as previously provided,” reads the letter Cal Fire sent to operators. “Therefore, the department no longer financially supports ham operators, radios or tenancy.”

PG&E Corp Filed For Bankruptcy Protection Amid CA Wildfire Liabilities

SACRAMENTO (Reuters) – PG&E Corp, owner of the largest U.S. power utility, filed for bankruptcy protection on Tuesday in anticipation of liabilities in excess of $30 billion from the deadliest wildfires in California’s history.

PG&E, which provides electricity and natural gas to 16 million customers in northern and central California and employs 24,000 people, vowed to keep the lights on and continue with critical investments it said were needed in its system’s safety and maintenance.

“The power and gas will stay on … We are not ‘going out of business,’ and there will be no disruption in the services you expect from us,” interim Chief Executive John Simon said in a letter to customers.

CA’s Largest Utility Could Face Murder Charges For Sparking Wildfires

CA’s Largest Utility Could Face Murder Charges For Sparking Wildfires

California’s largest utility could face murder charges or manslaughter charges if found responsible for sparking recent, deadly wildfires around the state, according to the state attorney general.

California Attorney General Xavier Becerra, a Democrat, filed documents Friday with Northern California’s federal district court warning that the utility company Pacific Gas and Electric (PG&E) may face severe criminal charges if its operations or equipment are found to have sparked fatal wildfires, NBC News reported.

The Camp Fire torched roughly 150,000 acres north of Sacramento in November. It killed at least 86 people and is California’s deadliest wildfire on record, according to California’s state fire agency. The fire destroyed nearly 19,000 structures. The cause of the fire is still under investigation, but early reports suggest the disaster began with a broken PG&E transmission line.

PG&E has acknowledged that its equipment may have started the Camp Fire, and U.S. District Judge William Alsup ordered the utility on Nov. 27 to investigate whether its equipment was responsible.

Marlon Wayans Calls President Trump “the Devil,” Blames Him For CA Wildfires

Marlon Wayans tells us Donald Trump should feel right at home at the scene of the destructive California wildfires … because the comedian thinks the President is “the devil.”

We got Marlon on Saturday at LAX … and he tells our photog it’s ironic Trump is visiting areas devastated by the Camp Fire because he feels POTUS is ultimately responsible for the deadliest fire in California history.

Check out the clip … Marlon paints a picture of how he imagines Trump, and it’s really dark.

Loggers Support Trump’s Claim That CA Wildfires Due to Mismanagement of Land

A national logging organization is offering support to President Trump following catastrophic wildfires in California and a political debate over the causes of the destructive blazes.

“President Trump blamed poor forest management for wildfires in California and throughout the West, and there is truth to statements he has made,” said Daniel Dructor, executive vice president of the American Loggers Council, a coalition of state and regional associations that represents independent contract loggers.

“It’s time to rise above political posturing and recognize that active forest management — including logging, thinning, grazing and controlled burning — are tools that can and must be used to reduce fire risks and help mitigate the impacts to landscapes,” Mr. Dructor said in a statement.

California Mismanaging Land as Wildfires Routinely Plague State

President Trump received a lot of pushback from the media over his comments that the mismanagement of California’s land is partial responsible for the deadly wildfires currently plaguing the state.

“There is no reason for these massive, deadly and costly forest fires in California except that forest management is so poor,” he tweeted last week. “Billions of dollars are given each year, with so many lives lost, all because of gross mismanagement of the forests. Remedy now, or no more Fed payments!”

But according to several reports, Trump is correct about California’s land mismanagement.

For example, California has been letting its vegetation grow uncontrollably over the last century, rather than allowing controlled burns to keep it at manageable levels, according to a report by High Country News.

California Engulfed in Unprecedented Wildfires

Awesome scenes of destruction are pouring out of California, where several wildfires have burned through tens of thousands of acres, compelling the governor to declare a state of emergency.

At least 17 fires burning throughout The Golden State have forced thousands of residents to evacuate and are stretching rescue and fire crews thin.
