YouTube Bans Stefan Molyneux, Host of the Largest Philosophy Channel on the Platform

youtube

YouTube censored the YouToube channel of author and philosopher Stefan Molyneux Monday, amidst a massive crackdown on free speech on major Big Tech platforms such as Twitch, Reddit, and Twitter.

Multiple channels that complied with YouTube’s terms of service were banned Monday morning, the most prominent being Stefan Molyneux, host of FreeDomain radio.

Molyneux’s channel had been active since 2006 and had amassed the largest following of any philosophy program on YouTube, as well as other social media platforms.

“Please friends – help me to raise awareness of the sudden suspension of my YouTube channel of 14 years – please politely tag @TeamYouTube to help correct this egregious error,” Molyneux said on Twitter.

Twitter, YouTube Permit Communist Party Misinformation While Aggressively Censoring Conservatives

The Washington Free Beacon just published the findings of an investigation into American social media companies and their handling of Chinese government propaganda and misinformation which is routinely distributed on their platforms.

An investigation reportedly run by House Foreign Affairs Committee leader Rep. Michael McCaul used Congressional resources to examine how CCP figures use different platforms, and what policies each have in place to mark the information as propaganda, or censor it all together.

Surprisingly, even the most stringent websites handled the Chinese propaganda with a light touch, even as they continued to crack down on conservative voices and media organizations. Just today, Facebook removed a Trump campaign ad for using a symbol that a group of left-wing activists claimed to be a “Nazi symbol” (albeit one most Americans, and most Jews, probably wouldn’t recognize). Twitter, meanwhile, refuses to remove even tweets with patently false claims, like CCP officials claiming the coronavirus originated in the US.

YouTube Deleting Comments Critical of Communist China

commietube

YouTube is blaming an “error” after it was discovered the popular video hosting platform was censoring comments critical of the Chinese Communist Party.

In a report from The Verge, Youtube admitted it had removed an unknown number of Chinese-language comments from users, but claims it was done in error.

“This appears to be an error in our enforcement systems and we are investigating,” a YouTube spokesperson told The Verge.

“The company did not elaborate on how or why this error came to be, but said it was not the result of any change in its moderation policy.”

YouTube Censors Epidemiologist For Opposing Lockdown

Big Tech companies are aggressively tamping down on COVID-19 “misinformation” — opinions and ideas contrary to official pronouncements.

Dr. Knut M. Wittkowski, former head of biostatistics, epidemiology and research design at Rockefeller University, says YouTube removed a video of him talking about the virus which had racked up more than 1.3 million views.

Wittkowski, 65, is a ferocious critic of the nation’s current steps to fight the coronavirus. He has derided social distancing, saying it only prolongs the virus’ existence and has attacked the current lockdown as mostly unnecessary.

YouTube CEO Susan Wojcicki admits that the company knows its users don’t like the video giant rigging its own algorithm to boost “authoritative” mainstream sources, but that they do it anyway.

For several years now, the company has artificially gamed its own search engine to ensure that independent content creators are buried underneath a wall of mainstream media content.

This rigging is so severe that the company basically broke its own search engine, with some videos posted by independent creators almost impossible to find even if the user searches for the exact title.

YouTube demonetized the account of popular Chinese-American blogger Jennifer Zeng Thursday night, after she published a video which considers several possibilities for the origins of COVID-19, according to Forbes.

The New York-based Zeng, who grew up in China and spent time as a prisoner in a CCP labor camp, has picked up a following on YouTube and Twitter after posting some of the most insightful, unfiltered footage of what’s been going on inside China and elsewhere during the coronavirus outbreak.

“I’ve been warned before by YouTube and have always appealed,” she said, adding “I’ve been warned by them on maybe 95% of my coronavirus videos. I just got this note last night and I wrote to them about it this morning.”

YouTube’s Chief Product Officer Calls Users ‘Basement-Dwelling Idiots’

YouTube’s Chief Product Officer has insulted his own users as basement-dwellers who deserve to be relegated by the algorithm in favor of “authoritative” mainstream sources.

Neil Mohan made the remarks during an interview with Protocol’s editor at large David Pierce after he was asked if YouTube had to switch its approach to moderating content given the ever changing advice of health authorities in relation to the coronavirus.

Mohan said that this was the reason YouTube was “raising up authoritative voices,” which is a euphemism for suppressing voices that aren’t part of the mainstream media, despite the fact that the public’s trust in the media during the coronavirus pandemic has plummeted even further.

YouTube Expanding ‘Fact Checks’ to Censor Coronavirus ‘Misinformation’

YouTube will now “fact check” US search queries, expanding a feature tried in other countries last year in an effort to eradicate “misinformation” about Covid-19 – but some netizens are seeing hints of Orwell in the project.

The video-sharing giant rolled out the new feature on Tuesday, announcing that its “fact check information panels” will now appear on American searches, in which “authoritative sources” will show up below the search bar to correct claims that YouTube deems suspect.

“We’re now using these panels to help address an additional challenge: misinformation that comes up quickly as part of a fast-moving news cycle, where unfounded claims and uncertainty about facts are common,” the platform said in a statement, citing unverified claims that Covid-19 is a “bio-weapon” as an example.

YouTube Censors Video About UV Light Treatment Use Against Coronavirus

UVlighttech24986

YouTube has removed a video by a pharmaceutical company explaining how UV light treatment can be used to possibly combat the coronavirus, claiming it violates their terms of service.

The censored video, produced by Cedars-Sinai Medical Center explains how its UV light product called “Healight” can be used as a First-in-Class treatment against viruses and bacteria, including the coronavirus, by inserting the catheter device into the lungs that exposes the bronchial tissue to UV-A radiation.

After initially declaring the video didn’t violate its “Community Guidelines,” YouTube relented and removed it on Saturday after receiving pressure from a New York Times reporter whining that this experimental treatment is simply fake news because President Trump mentioned it.
